P + HS Architects proposal is one of short-lister for the international “36 Speed Design Competition ‘run by the Architects Journal with Citu builders. The goal is to develop this site on the side of the river leading in Leeds City Centre with the intention to deliver a landmark development, fit it between multiple locations most photogenic buildings in Leeds on the edge of the prestigious site. Our idea is to keep the scheme as may be read with the building design which can be described conceptually as the four simple elements: Yellow skin, Glass box, Floor plates, Core. Yellow skin has a dual role, acting as a shallow ‘icon’ wrap and contextualising the building with its shape, but has been manipulated to references about industrial roof-bars, and dipping down and connect the site with water. The create a flexible space that can inhabit the developer is required. It wrapped slab without reducing the strong form of the skin. This building could only office space, but there is potential to create a ground floor restaurant with an amazing terrace on the water and on top there may be a unique, luxury apartments with balconies core is a key element of the scheme: while the core of building a physical link with same, the service lies in building links with the surrounding site. Interesting buildings / reject heat from the river through a series of heat pumps to control the internal temperature. Pipe submerged in the water like a rose even though the core roots, past the heat exchanger, and spread under the floor screed at each level to form a direct relationship between buildings, residents and water. The create a flexible space that can inhabit the developer is required. It wrapped slab without reducing the strong form of the skin.
