This building is home to the Biology Department office and are also offering many departments, including teaching and research activities. Chaparral Hall includes 18 research laboratories, nine introductory teaching laboratories and 13 classrooms in addition to a suite of DNA sequencing laboratory and the microscope. This building opened last fall and serves students from all faculties of science and mathematics that have greater access to new classrooms and better on the first floor and computer labs throughout the building. This building is home to the Biology Department office and are also offering many departments, including teaching and research activities. The building has two computer labs equipped with high speed “hard wired” and wireless connections. It also supports the building of fiber optic transmission of data needed by high-bandwidth instruments such as a new confocal and electron microscopes complex. A social overlooking the Botanical Gardens offer a quiet space for students’ learning and reflection. Footpath outside the closed doors allow continuous pedestrian circulation around the facility while visually connecting the Science Complex and the campus. The included four-story lobby and plaza outside and the stairs are three levels of outdoor public circulation to facilitate the teaching laboratory, located on the top floor, serves to orient visitors, and promote interaction plaza.
