Double house By Tham & Videgård Hansson
Double house ground floor plan
Large spaces without any fixed hierarchy allowing this house to invite people to organize their lives following their own building envelope preferences. The determined by the full width, maximum area and height fitting into the building regulations. Houses arranged as a spiral sequence of four large rooms on four levels. As a result of the existing topography of spatial variation that was developed, starting with a ceiling height of four meters from the entrance level, the vertical to the horizontal space extended opening toward the surrounding greenery. Large space for a link to the roof terrace – the area’s largest social house. More or less reflected in the plan, the units contain a small adjustment in connection with differences in orientation, light and views. Construction is in cast in situ concrete. Facades are rendered in plaster colored dark greyish blue. Prominent window boxes made of oak adds three-dimensional quality to the facade, thus increasing the depth and character of the interior. All glass panels are fixed, with wooden vents and side door.
